The police seized weapons in Shuafat and arrested three suspects.

Israeli Border Police in Jerusalem on Wednesday night arrested three Arabs in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Shuafat after several weapons were found in the car with them.
The weapons were discovered during a search of their car at a checkpoint. The arms included an M-16 assault rifle and a Carl Gustav submachine gun.
The three aroused the troops’ suspicion after they appeared to be hurrying.
The three suspects, all residents of Shuafat in their 20s, were taken for questioning. They were brought before a judge and remanded on Thursday.
The police stated that “this action, together with all the others executed at checkpoints across the country, constitute an important element in the steadfast war the police is waging against terrorism and violent crime.”
