Five pro-Hamas demonstrators were arrested by Metropolitan Police in London on Wednesday while attempting to shut down filming for The Runner, a new movie in production starring Israeli actress Gal Gadot.

According to a report by The Daily Mail, in recent weeks, anti-Israel protesters have been harassing production teams across London in an attempt to derail the film over its Israeli star.

In response to the protests on Wednesday, police arrested five demonstrators at the central London set in Westminster after several of the protesters were identified as having been involved in previous filming disruptions. Two of the five have outstanding warrants stemming from previous protests against the film’s production.

“While we absolutely acknowledge the importance of peaceful protest, we must intervene where it crosses the line into serious disruption or criminality,” said London Metropolitan Police Superintendent Neil Holyoak.

“We have been in discussions with the production company to understand the impact of the protests on their work and any individuals involved. I hope today’s operation shows we will not tolerate the harassment of or unlawful interference with those trying to go about their legitimate professional work in London.”

Also on Wednesday, Gadot’s Hollywood star was vandalized, with the words “Baby Killer” written over her name.

In addition, Gadot’s last name was overwritten with the name “Greenstein,” mistakenly written “Greinstien,” based on her family’s original name before it was Hebraized to Gadot.

The star was also partially covered with a sticker that read, “Israeli snipers target children.”

By Wednesday night, however, the graffiti and sticker were both removed, and Gadot’s Hollywood star was returned to its original condition.
