A senior Qatari official traveled to The Hague to explore legal action against the Jewish state.

Qatar has signaled that it plans to file a formal complaint with the International Criminal Court (ICC) over the recent Israeli airstrike on a Hamas compound in Doha.
The Gulf kingdom has publicly stated that the strike, which killed several Hamas affiliates and a Qatari national, violated international law.
Qatari Minister of State Mohamed Bin Mubarak Al-Khulaifi confirmed in a post on X that he had traveled to The Hague to explore legal options against Israel.
“Today, I visited the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands, as part of the team tasked with examining legal avenues for responding to the Israeli aggression against the State of Qatar,” Al-Khulaifi wrote.
“During both meetings, I affirmed the State of Qatar’s commitment to supporting the path of international justice and ensuring that perpetrators of crimes are held accountable and that they do not escape punishment under the umbrella of international criminal law,” he added.
The Israeli strike earlier this month killed five people linked to Hamas, including the son, aide, and office manager of a senior Hamas leader. A Qatari citizen, reportedly a member of the nation’s security services, was also among the dead.
It appears, however, that the attack failed to eliminate the top Hamas figures believed to be the intended targets.
Doha has voiced deep anger at Israel over the bombing, with Qatari leaders accusing Jerusalem of violating international law.
Earlier this week, Qatar convened a summit of Arab nations to discuss possible measures to punish Israel, though it appears the gathering ended without a conclusive plan of action.
Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani also received high-profile backing from Washington. During a recent meeting, President Donald Trump praised him as a “wonderful” leader and a “great ally” to the United States.
Trump has privately expressed his displeasure with the Israeli strike and reportedly assured Qatari officials that Israel would not bomb Qatari territory again.
