Qatar rebuts Tucker Carlson’s anti-Israel conspiracy theory

Far-right podcaster’s false claims about Israeli agents attempting to bomb Qatar and Saudi Arabia debunked by the Qatari government.

The Qatari government on Tuesday denied claims made by far-right online influencer Tucker Carlson alleging that agents for Israel’s Mossad agency were arrested by authorities in Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

On Tuesday, Carlson released a 14-minute video statement in which he claimed Mossad agents were arrested in the two oil-rich Arab nations over planned bombing attacks.

“Hasn’t been reported, but it’s a fact that last night, in Qatar and Saudi Arabia, authorities arrested Mossad agents planning on committing bombings in those countries,” Carlson said.

Carlson, who addressed a conference in Qatar last year and has publicly lauded the autocracy, did not directly address Iranian attacks on Qatar over the past few days, including missile and drone attacks on both military and civilian targets.

Later on Tuesday, Majed Al-Ansari, a spokesman for the Qatari Foreign Ministry, told reporters that Iran repeatedly attacked Hamad International Airport in Doha but emphasized that Iranian missiles were intercepted.

During the press conference, Al-Ansari also addressed Carlson’s claims that a Mossad plot was foiled in Qatar and that a cell was arrested.

Qatar, Al-Ansari said, “has no information about any cells of the Israeli intelligence service Mossad at the moment.”

Israeli journalist Amit Segal released a video statement Tuesday afternoon mocking Carlson’s stance on the Iran war and his failure to address Iranian attacks on Qatar.

“Dear Tucker, my heart goes out to you,” said Segal. “Iran, the regime you have spent so much time defending ,just attacked Qatar, the very people who cut your own checks.”

“But instead of going to a therapist, you went on air and simply ignored it. Which is interesting, because when Israel targeted Hamas terrorists in Qatar, you lost your mind over the violation of international law.”

“But when Iran targets civilians in Qatar, suddenly you say nothing.”
