Revealed: Ramat David Air Base Impacted During Iranian Missile Attack

Security officials have now cleared for publication that the Ramat David Air Base in northern Israel was struck during Sunday’s Iranian missile attack.

According to the initial investigation, the object that hit the base was likely an interceptor fragment rather than a direct missile impact. The debris landed in a non-operational area of the air base used to store forklifts and technical equipment. No damage was caused to military assets, and no injuries were reported.

The disclosure comes after satellite imagery published this week appeared to show possible damage at the base, prompting speculation about whether one of Iran’s missiles had penetrated Israeli air defenses.

Images captured on June 8 by the European Commission’s Sentinel-2 satellite showed a new discolored area near a hangar at the base, located near Migdal Ha’emek. The low-resolution imagery made it impossible to determine whether the change was caused by a direct impact, interceptor debris, repair work, fire damage, or another factor.

Iran launched multiple barrages of ballistic missiles toward Israel on Sunday night and Monday morning, with many of the missiles targeting northern Israel.
