A rocket fired from Gaza towards Israel backfired and fell on the home of a terrorist.
A rocket aimed at Israel from the Gaza Strip on Friday missed its target and fell on the home of a Hamas terrorist.
“A rocket fired a short time ago from Gaza towards Israel harmed a residential building in Beit Hanoun. Once again, the terrorist organizations launch rockets at the residents of Gaza,” Major General Yoav Mordechai, Israel’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, stated on its Arabic-language Facebook page.
“The terror operatives in Gaza are proving in an unambiguous fashion what we continuously stress: They are destroying the future of Gaza’s residents with their own hands,” Mordechai said.
The rocket damaged the home of the brother of Mushir al-Masri, a senior Hamas official, a Hadashot news report said
COGAT noted it was the second such incident this week. On Wednesday, a rocket fired at Israel from Gaza also fell inside the Palestinian territory and hit a public school, damaging a classroom, Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai, who heads COGAT, said at the time.
On Wednesday night, terror groups in the Gaza Strip fired at least one rocket into southern Israel, prompting the Iron Dome air defense battery to shoot down at least one missile, an IDF spokesman said.
