‘Trump, Netanyahu targeted by same Deep State,’ says PM’s wife

Sara Netanyahu, the wife of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, claims ‘deep state’ elites in the US and Israel have targeted US President Donald Trump and Netanyahu.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s wife, Sara Netanyahu, took aim at what she described as a foreign-funded “deep state” in Israel, which she claimed has worked to undermine her husband’s government, comparing it to institutional efforts to stymie the Trump administration.

In an interview aired on Saturday, Mrs. Netanyahu told US TV Fox News‘ Lara Trump – daughter-in-law of US President Donald Trump – that a coalition of “small, radical left-wing elites funded by foreign countries” is working to neutralize the Netanyahu government and even force Netanyahu from power.

“You have a deep state in the US that pursues President Trump and his family, and we have the same kind of deep state in Israel that pursues my husband, me, and my sons, my family.”

The wife of Israel’s longest-serving premier pointed to the ongoing corruption trial against her husband as an example of the judiciary being co-opted by Israel’s “deep state,” borrowing terminology used by the American Right.

“The cases are now collapsing in court because there is no truth in them at all,” Sara said of the cases against her husband.

Mrs. Netanyahu also discussed her efforts to assist freed hostages and the families of hostages, while emphasizing the agreement between Israel and the Trump administration on the need to destroy Hamas as a military force.

“I live with the pain of the hostages and families every day. I am deeply involved,” she said. “The hostages are going through hard things in the barbaric Hamas captivity. They need to be at home.”

“If they could, Hamas would murder all of us. They promise to do it, again, and again, which they did on October 7. This is why President Trump and my husband agreed, Hamas must be destroyed. This is what Israel is doing.”
