Senate passes Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ 51–50 after Vance tie‑breaker

Tech billionaire Elon Musk, once a key Trump donor and White House advisor, slammed the bill across social media.

By Jewish Breaking News

In a dramatic nail-biter vote, the Senate approved Trump’s expansive 940‑page “One Big Beautiful Bill Act”—bundling tax cuts, Medicaid and SNAP reductions, and a major debt ceiling increase—by a razor‑thin 51‑50 margin, with Vice President J.D. Vance casting the decisive vote.

Three GOP senators—Susan Collins, Rand Paul, and Thom Tillis—joined all Senate Democrats in opposition.

The legislation now heads back to the House amid escalating concerns from fiscal conservatives over the projected $2.8 trillion debt impact and deep social‑program cuts.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk, once a key Trump donor and White House advisor, slammed the bill across social media as “utterly insane and destructive,” warning it would “destroy millions of jobs” and constitute “political suicide for the Republican Party”.

He derided it further as a “disgusting abomination” and denounced its support for outdated industries while gutting EV tax credits.

Musk vowed to oppose GOP lawmakers who voted for it—saying “they will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth”—and threatened to form a new “America Party” to challenge the “Democrat‑Republican uni‑party”.

Musk’s rebuke triggered a war of words: Trump defended Musk as “a wonderful guy” but hinted at possible regulatory reprisals over EV subsidies:

“DOGE is going to look at Musk. If DOGE looks at Musk, we’re going to save a fortune. Don’t think he should be playing that game with me,” Trump warned.

Some Republican Senate leaders publicly dismissed Musk’s threats—insisting they were unified behind the legislation’s passage.
