Senior Israeli officials: U.S. likely to join strike on Fordow nuclear site

Fordow, buried deep under the mountains near Qom, is considered virtually impenetrable without U.S. assets like B-2 or B-52 bombers and precision bunker-busting munitions.

Senior Israeli officials tell JFeed that despite President Donald Trump’s recent public statements urging an end to the Israel-Iran war, there is a growing likelihood that the United States will join an Israeli strike on Iran’s heavily fortified Fordow nuclear facility.

Trump, who recently spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin and reiterated his call to “bring this war to an end,” is said to view one outcome as acceptable: a nuclear-free Iran.

According to multiple Israeli sources, the White House understands that eliminating Iran’s nuclear threat — whether diplomatically or militarily — remains a shared strategic objective.

“The Americans know that Fordow is beyond Israel’s independent capabilities,” one Israeli defense official said.

“If there is to be a real chance at stopping Iran’s program, U.S. involvement is not optional — it’s essential.”

Fordow, buried deep under the mountains near Qom, is considered virtually impenetrable without U.S. assets like B-2 or B-52 bombers and precision bunker-busting munitions.

While President Trump publicly emphasizes de-escalation, Israeli sources believe that Washington is privately aligned with the strategic necessity of a decisive operation, and is preparing accordingly.

“The messaging may be diplomatic,” another senior source said, “but behind the scenes, operational alignment is stronger than ever.”
