Several Israelis were lightly injured on Tuesday when an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) crashed into a building in Wadi Ara, in northern Israel, and started a fire.
The injured suffered from smoke inhalation and were taken to a hospital in Afula for treatment.
The UAV, said to be a Heron 1, was reportedly on a test flight for Israel’s Aerospace Industries (IAI). The experiment was apparently a failure. “The firm is looking into the circumstances of the event together with the relevant parties,” IAI stated after the crash.
The Ministry of Transportation has launched an inquiry into the incident.
