Reports from Gaza confirm that one of the four terrorists eliminated by IDF forces as they fled Rafah tunnel is the son of Ghazi Hamad, a senior Hamas official who helped negotiate the 2011 Shalit deal which secured Yahya Sinwar’s release.

Israeli forces operating in the southern Gaza Strip killed four Hamas terrorists in the city of Rafah Sunday morning.
The incident occurred after a group of terrorists emerged from a tunnel network underneath the city and attempted to flee.
Soldiers from the IDF’s Nahal Brigade, supported by the Israel Air Force, attacked the terrorists as they emerged from the tunnel network, killing the four.
The terrorists were later identified as the local Hamas battalion commander, the deputy battalion commander, a company commander, and Abdullah Hamad, the son of Ghazi Hamad, a senior official in Hamas’ leadership and former deputy foreign affairs minister for Gaza.
After the terrorists were eliminated, Nahal Brigade commander Col. Arik Moyal released a video from the scene, showing an assault rifle located at the scene which apparently belonged to Staff Sergeant Or Mizrachi, a 21-year-old Nahal Brigade soldier killed on October 7th, 2023.
The four terrorists eliminated Sunday morning were holed up in an underground network under Rafah, where it is believed that between 100 and 150 Hamas operatives are still hiding.
The forces have been cut off from Hamas’ leadership since a ceasefire earlier this year ended in March.
Turkey has sought to secure the terrorists’ safe passage out of the tunnels in exchange for a pledge that they not return to terrorism.
While reports indicate Israel has agreed to offer them clemency if they surrender and swear not to engage in terrorism again, thus far no deal has been reached, amid claims the terrorists themselves have refused to hand over their weapons.
