Israeli forces continued pressing their offensive in Khan Yunis, the Israel Defense Forces said on Sunday morning.

Khan Yunis, Gaza’s second-largest city, is regarded as a personal stronghold of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

On the last day, fighters of the Parachute Brigade Combat Team raided a multi-story building used by the commander of Hamas’s Khan Yunis Brigade for combat management. Soldiers found Kalashnikovs, cartridges, military equipment, and technological gear.

The soldiers also eliminated terrorists who were near the forces with short-range fire.

One terrorist who approached the forces threw two grenades at the fighters, who opened fire, killing him.

In additional raids, a stockpile of RPG rockets was found inside terrorist houses.

Elsewhere in Khan Yunis, fighters of the battle team of the Givati Brigade eliminated a terrorist who was seen approaching the troops. The brigade also directed air strikes on two terrorists who were observed approaching the soldiers, and on a Palestinian Islamic Jihad sniper.

In northern Gaza, soldiers of the 401st Brigade Combat Team eliminated seven Hamas terrorists. During raids on many buildings, the fighters of the brigade located Kalashnikov rifles, pistols, military equipment, ammunition and grenades.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Air Force struck numerous Hams targets across the Strip, including terror infrastructure and launch sites.

The naval forces continue to assist the ground forces operating in the Gaza Strip with fire and observation from the sea.

At least 1,200 people were killed in Hamas’s attacks on Israeli communities near the Gaza border on Oct. 7. The number of men, women, children and soldiers held captive in Gaza by Hamas is now believed to be 136.
