U.S. President Donald Trump issued a stark and cryptic warning Thursday night, suggesting further action against Iran could unfold in the coming hours as the conflict with the Iranian regime intensifies.

In a lengthy post, Trump said U.S. and allied forces were delivering heavy blows to Iran’s military capabilities while criticizing media coverage of the conflict.

“We are totally destroying the terrorist regime of Iran, militarily, economically, and otherwise,” Trump wrote, adding that media outlets such as “the Failing New York Times” were portraying the situation inaccurately.

The president claimed Iran’s military infrastructure had been severely degraded, saying the country’s naval and air capabilities had been largely eliminated.

“Iran’s Navy is gone, their Air Force is no longer, missiles, drones and everything else are being decimated,” Trump wrote, also asserting that Iranian leadership figures had been “wiped from the face of the earth.”

Trump also suggested that additional developments could take place soon, writing, “Watch what happens to these deranged scumbags today.”

The message appeared to signal the possibility of major developments related to the ongoing campaign against the Iranian regime.

Trump framed the confrontation as part of a long-running struggle against Tehran, accusing the regime of decades of violence and instability.

“They’ve been killing innocent people all over the world for 47 years,” Trump wrote. “Now I, as the 47th President of the United States of America, am killing them.”
