Trump mocks Greta Thunberg’s claims of being ‘kidnapped’ by Israel

“She has to go to an anger management class” – President Trump pokes fun at Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg’s claims that she was kidnapped by Israel prior to being deported.

President Donald Trump mocked Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg on Monday after the 22-year-old accused Israel of kidnapping her.

On Monday, Israeli military forces boarded the Madleen, a vessel carrying a dozen anti-Israel activists attempting to run Israel’s security blockade of the Gaza Strip.

The 12 activists, including Thunberg, French MP for the European Union parliament Rima Hassan, and “Game of Thrones” actor Liam Cunningham, were detained by Israeli authorities who questioned the activists and offered them to watch footage of atrocities committed by Gaza terrorists during the invasion of October 7, 2023.

While none agreed to watch the footage, four of them, including Thunberg, agreed to leave the country immediately; the other eight refused the deportation orders.

After Israeli forces boarded the Madleen, Thunberg told supporters via social media that she was being kidnapped. Hours later, Trump responded to questions regarding Thunberg’s claims.

“Well, she’s a strange person. She’s a young, angry person,” Trump said.

“I don’t know if it’s real anger; it’s hard to believe, actually. But I saw what happened. She’s certainly different.”

The president recommended Thunberg “go to an anger management class. That’s my primary recommendation.”

When pressed to respond to Thunberg’s accusations of Israel kidnapping her and her fellow activists, Trump said that in his view, “Israel has enough problems without kidnapping Greta Thunberg.”

Thunberg was put on a flight home to Sweden Tuesday morning. The eight activists who refused to sign their deportation orders are expected to be transferred to the Givon detention center, which houses illegal immigrants.

The activists remaining in Israel will be brought before a judge to authorize their expulsion from the country, the Foreign Ministry said.

“Those who refuse to sign deportation documents and leave Israel will be brought before a judicial authority, in accordance with Israeli law, to authorize their deportation.”
