Senator Lindsey Graham meets with Prime Minister Netanyahu during Israel visit, says Trump will decide on whether to bomb Iran in a matter of weeks, not months.

South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham visited Israel on Monday, meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem.
Speaking at a press briefing at the Kempinski Hotel in Tel Aviv, Graham denied that there are significant disagreements between the Trump administration and the Netanyahu government.
“My presence here today is to reassure the Israeli people, there is no light or gaps between President Trump and Bibi about what to do and how to do it.”
The Republican lawmaker downplayed Netanyahu’s skepticism of American efforts to reach a diplomatic solution with Iran, after the prime minister said earlier this week that Iran “lies and cheats.”
Graham argued that President Donald Trump’s desire to attempt to negotiate an agreement with Iran did not suggest a fundamental difference of opinion between Trump and Netanyahu.
“There are two lines in the water right now,” said Graham. “One is the diplomatic line, trying to find a way to end this regime diplomatically that would advance our national security interests.”
“The other line is the military option. I think President Trump is looking to see which line can catch the biggest fish.”
Regarding the timeframe for a decision on whether to continue to pursue diplomacy or to move to military intervention, Graham said that President Trump will make a determination sooner rather than later.
“The bottom line is, we’re into weeks, not months, in terms of decision-making.”
Graham linked the regime’s current weakness in part to the war sparked by Hamas’ invasion of Israel on October 7, 2023.
“If this regime falls in the coming weeks or months, two things we’ll attribute to it,” Graham said, listing October 7 and “the rise of the Iranian people.”
