President Trump says war with Iran “going very well” and currently ahead of schedule, predicting it will be over in around a month.

The campaign against Iran is proceeding ahead of schedule, President Donald Trump said Monday, and has thus far been highly successful.
The president spoke by phone with CNN‘s Jake Tapper on the third day of the war, reiterating his estimate that the conflict will take roughly one month to complete.
“I don’t want to see it go on too long. I always thought it would be four weeks. And we’re a little ahead of schedule,” Trump said.
Touting military achievements against Iran, Trump declared: “We’re knocking the crap out of them.”
“I think it’s going very well. It’s very powerful. We’ve got the greatest military in the world and we’re using it.”
Without providing details, Trump confirmed that the United States is covertly aiding Iranian dissidents against the regime.
“We are indeed. But right now we want everyone staying inside. It’s not safe out there.”
President Trump hinted at an escalation in the offensive against Iran, claiming that the US attacks thus far have been relatively minor compared to the “big wave” that will be unleashed later on.
“We haven’t even started hitting them hard. The big wave hasn’t even happened. The big one is coming soon.”
The president acknowledged that his administration did not anticipate Iran’s retaliatory strikes targeting US-aligned Arab countries, including Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
“We were surprised,” Trump admitted. “We told them, ‘We’ve got this,’ and now they want to fight. And they’re aggressively fighting. They were going to be very little involved and now they insist on being involved.”
Pro-regime Iranian forces “shot into a hotel, they shot into an apartment house,” Trump continued. “It just made [Arab states] angry. They love us, but they were watching. There was no reason for them to be involved.”
Trump said it is unclear who is now leading Iran, stating that 49 of the regime’s top officials have been killed thus far.
“They don’t even know who’s leading them now,” Trump said. “We went down 49” Iranian leaders.
