Two people were injured in a terrorist ramming attack south of Jerusalem Tuesday afternoon.

The attack occurred at the Al-Khader Junction along the Tunnel Road segment of Route 60, which connects the Gush Etzion area south of the capital to Jerusalem.

At approximately 2:25 p.m., a Palestinian terrorist driving down the road rammed into a bus stop, hitting two pedestrians.

After ramming into the two pedestrians, the terrorist exited the vehicle, pulled out a knife, and attempted to stab his victims.

The victims include a 15-year-old boy who was seriously injured, and a 16-year-old boy who was lightly injured.

Armed civilians responded to the attack, opening fire on the terrorist, who was neutralized.

Emergency first responders from United Hatzalah and Magen David Adom (MDA) were dispatched to the scene to treat the victims and evacuate them to hospitals in Jerusalem.

“We provided initial medical treatment at the scene to two patients whose conditions are currently assessed as moderate and mild-to-moderate,” United Hatzalah EMTs Shaul Nehemias, Yaakov Wallach, and Leiby Klein reported.

“Both patients presented with hemorrhaging and received wound care. One of the injured — a 16-year-old male — was transported via United Hatzalah ambulance to the hospital. Large contingents of IDF and security forces operated at the scene.”

After receiving first aid treatment on the scene, the seriously injured teenage victim was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Hospital, while the second victim was transported to Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center.

“A patient in serious condition from an attack at the Tunnel Road was brought to the Shaare Zedek trauma unit,” hospital officials said. “After an initial assessment, the patient was transferred for imaging tests and further treatment.”
