Two people were lightly hurt when shots were fired at a bus travelling from Beit El to Jerusalem Wednesday night.

One man in his 50s and another age 30 were lightly hurt.

According to initial reports, the bus was hit eight times. A spokesman for the Magen David Ambulance service said the two victims suffered light wounds from flying glass.

Dudi Avitan, a spokesman for the Beit El Council, said the attack took place at 10:15 p.m. near Givat Assaf, a community some 3.5 kilometers from Beit El.

The shooter is still at large.

“When I arrived at the scene, I saw the bus with the windshield shattered and passengers standing outside,” said Magen David Adom paramedic Shalom Galil, who attended to victims. “A man of about 35, who was sitting in the front seat, and the bus driver, a man of about 30, were fully conscious and had very minor injuries resulting from flying shards of glass.”

The incident follows a recent string of terrorist attacks over the last month beginning with the killing of two Israelis at the Barkan Industrial Park on Oct. 7. That shooter, too, has not yet been captured.
