Israel’s envoy to the United Nations says the international body spends $100 million per year to investigate and criticize the Jewish state.

Israel’s envoy to the United Nations blasted the international body this week, accusing the UN of spending roughly $100 million per year to investigate and vilify the State of Israel and to fund various activities hostile to the Jewish state.
In a video statement on Monday, Danon teased the release of an analysis of the proposed 2026 UN budget, showing that the UN has allocated some $100 million for investigations of Israel, “incitement” against Israel, and other programs hostile to the country.
“In the coming days, the UN is going to approve its budget for 2026. We have identified about $100 million in it that will be allocated toward incitement against the State of Israel,” Ambassador Danon said.
“Instead of obsessively dealing with Israel, I would suggest that the UN invest the money where it is really needed, like humanitarian crises or in the global fight against terrorism. But until that happens, we will continue to push back against the machine of lies and incitement and fight for the truth here, in the corridors of the UN.”
This figure, he stressed in a follow-up video message released on Tuesday, does not include the roughly $80 million earmarked for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), which has been accused of maintaining ties to terrorist groups such as Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, after a number of UNRWA employees were found to be affiliated with the terror groups.
“The UN will also allocate about $80 million this year to UNRWA, an organization that has for years been a hotbed of terrorism,” Danon said.
“This is an organization whose employees were involved in the October 7 massacre and the kidnapping of an Israeli citizen to Gaza. It is time for the UN to stop funding terrorism and start fighting it.”
Danon said the $100 million included a variety of “activities against the government of Israel and against the IDF.”
“Sometimes they do it directly, such as through committees that address Palestinian issues. Many times it is disguised under different names and organizations, but the actual activities are pure propaganda against the State of Israel.”
For example, the report drafted by Israel’s mission to the UN included the millions of dollars spent annually by the UN’s Division for Palestinian Rights, and by several United Nations General Assembly committees dedicated to the Palestinian cause.
These committees hold dozens of debates each year on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and produce over 100 reports per year.
The UN Human Rights Council also maintains an ongoing inquiry into Israel’s actions since 2021.
The Council spends some $4 million per year to draft reports accusing the Jewish state of genocide, while blacklisting companies that operate in Jewish towns in Judea and Samaria.
