US pounds 90 Iranian targets; Trump warns ‘it will get much worse’

Iran’s Health Ministry said at least 14 people were killed and 78 others wounded in U.S. strikes across five provinces.

U.S. Central Command said American forces carried out another round of strikes against Iran on July 8, hitting approximately 90 military targets along Iran’s coastline in an effort to further degrade Tehran’s ability to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

CENTCOM said the targets included air defense systems, coastal surveillance assets, missile and drone storage sites, naval capabilities, and military logistics infrastructure.

The latest strikes followed U.S. attacks the previous night on roughly 80 Iranian military targets, including more than 60 Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps small boats.

CENTCOM said those strikes were intended to impose “heavy costs” after Iran violated the ceasefire by attacking three commercial vessels navigating the Strait of Hormuz.

President Donald Trump confirmed the new strikes on Truth Social, writing, “This is in retribution for yesterday’s bombing of ships by Iran.” He warned Tehran, “If it happens again, it will get much worse!”

Iran’s Health Ministry said at least 14 people were killed and 78 others wounded in U.S. strikes across five provinces.

Earlier Wednesday, Trump had signaled that additional strikes were likely.

“We hit them very hard last night, and we’ll probably hit them hard again tonight,” Trump said. “They’ve been the bully of the Middle East, and they’re not the bully anymore.”

An Israeli official said Washington had informed Jerusalem in advance that it intended to strike Iran overnight and that the operation would be broader than the previous night’s attacks.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf accused the United States of major violations of the memorandum of understanding, citing renewed sanctions, U.S. strikes, threats of further attacks, and what he called continued “Zionist aggression” in Lebanon.

“The era of bullying and extortion is over,” Ghalibaf wrote on X. “We don’t fold.”
