A Utah man was arrested this week after police uncovered multiple homemade explosive devices and alleged antisemitic threats targeting synagogues, authorities said.

Skyler AJ Rose was arrested Tuesday following an investigation by Ogden police, who said they received a tip regarding antisemitic threats posted on his X account.

According to court documents, the tipster provided Rose’s exact username along with screenshots of posts that included the statement, “I wanna blow up a synagogue.”

Officers who searched Rose’s home found a partially completed pipe bomb in his bedroom, along with a glass container containing marijuana, according to the arrest report. A further search uncovered six additional homemade bombs elsewhere in the residence.

“At this time, the bombs appear to be completed and operational,” the affidavit stated. Police also recovered an assault rifle from Rose’s bedroom.

Rose was charged with prohibited dangerous weapon conduct, manufacturing a weapon of mass destruction, possession of a controlled substance, and making a threat of terrorism. He is currently being held without bail.

“Based on the numerous antisemitic statements posted and the location of several weapons of mass destruction as well as a firearm, there is substantial reason to believe that this individual poses a danger to the community,” investigators wrote in the arrest report.

The arrest comes amid a sharp global rise in antisemitism, with Jewish communities increasingly targeted by threats and violence.

The case comes amid a global surge in antisemitic violence, including recent violent incidents targeting Jews in New York and the deadly antisemitic terror attack during Chanukah celebrations in Australia.

The growing wave of synagogue threats and extremist activity across the United States, heightens concerns that online incitement is increasingly translating into real-world attacks.
