A teacher at a Vermont elementary school was fired for having taught her pupils the Nazi salute.
A substitute teacher who worked for several years at Georgia Elementary School in Vermont was fired after admitting she had taught children how to perform the Nazi salute, local news station WCAX reported.
Local Superintendent Ned Kirsch told parents in an email that the children were seen “standing with their arm out in front of them and the teacher was modeling the position. She then raised her arm slightly and said ‘and now we say Heil Hitler,'” according to WCAX.
The school took immediate action, Kirsch said. A guidance counselor will meet with the students to ensure they feel safe and secure, he told the news station.
