‘You’ll pay’ – Hostage mothers threaten ‘traitor’ Netanyahu

Mother of kidnapped man compares Netanyahu to infamous villains in Jewish history, including Pharaoh and Haman.

The families of Israeli hostages abducted on October 7 and held in Gaza for nearly two years intensified their threats against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during mass rallies on Saturday night, vowing to make him “pay” if their loved ones do not return alive.

The families directed their fury almost entirely at Netanyahu rather than at Hamas, the terror group that carried out the kidnappings. Many relatives accused the prime minister of thwarting potential deals that could have secured the release of their loved ones.

Einav Zangauker, whose son Matan was kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz, compared Netanyahu to infamous villains of Jewish history.

“The Jewish people have had many persecutors throughout history,” Zangauker said at a protest in Jerusalem. “Pharaoh, Haman, they carried out pogroms against us — but you, Benjamin Netanyahu, you rise above them all.”

The crowd repeatedly booed Netanyahu during her speech, chanting “traitor.”

Vicki Cohen, the mother of an IDF soldier kidnapped on October 7 and believed to still be alive, also issued a direct threat to Netanyahu.

“If a hair on my Nimrod’s head is harmed, I will make sure you don’t have a minute of peace for the rest of your life,” Cohen said.

Cohen accused Netanyahu of deliberately undermining efforts to bring the hostages home. “My son can return tomorrow morning alive and the prime minister is undermining this,” she added. “My child will not be sacrificed on the altar of politics.”

Another mother, Anat Angrest, whose son was abducted from a Gaza-adjacent base and has appeared in multiple Hamas videos, also warned Netanyahu personally.

“If something happens to him, you will pay for it — this is a mother’s word,” Angrest told the crowd.
