Jerusalem shock: Iran missile impact near Western Wall, Temple Mount

By World Israel News

A fragment from an Iranian ballistic missile fell inside Jerusalem’s Old City on Friday, landing in the Jewish Quarter just hundreds of meters from the Western Wall and the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount.

Footage captured the moment debris struck a parking lot in the Jewish Quarter, after the missile was intercepted by Israeli air defenses.

Sirens had sounded across Jerusalem and parts of Samaria as Iran launched multiple barrages toward Israel.

Emergency crews rushed to the Old City following reports of impact.

According to Israeli authorities, the missile was successfully intercepted, but falling fragments caused localized damage. No injuries were reported in Jerusalem.

Magen David Adom said debris from interceptions hit several locations, while in the city of Rehovot, buildings were damaged and two people were lightly injured.

Officials noted that at least one missile in the barrage was a fragmentation-type weapon, designed to spread shrapnel over a wide area.

No damage was reported to the Western Wall or Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The incident highlights the growing reach of Iran’s attacks, with even Jerusalem’s most sensitive and historic areas now within range.

Israeli defense systems continue to intercept the majority of incoming threats, though falling debris remains a serious risk.
