Activist who called for invasion of Israel arrested over Biden assassination plot

An anti-Israel activist from Alabama was arrested recently over a plot to assassinate then-President Joe Biden during a 2024 presidential debate with Donald Trump.

Last week, the US Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia announced that a 23-year-old community college student was arrested and brought before a federal judge on Wednesday after being indicted for interstate travel with intent to murder.

The accused was identified as Crane Hill, Alabama, resident Adam Benjamin Hall, a radical anti-Israel activist who was incensed by the war in Gaza.

Outraged by Israel’s war on Hamas, Hall had called for the United States to invade Israel, writing in what he called his “manifesto,” penned on his cellphone that American leaders must be removed from power and a “D-Day” style attack on Israel’s shores be carried out.

“To all the Palestinian journalists . . . and in remembrance of the ones who lost their lives along the way,” Hill opened his explanatory note for his planned attack.

“Hopefully my actions snap you all awake long enough to thoroughly understand the point I will make in this exposé.”

“Our enemies are not in any other country but our own and Israel’s.”

“It’s time we overthrow these bastards and threaten to pull a f–king D-Day on Tel Aviv.”

“On the week of July 4th, forget your f–king barbecues and pool parties. Instead do the patriotic thing by marching on Capitol Hill, the White House, and the Supreme Court armed with whatever you have.”

“Unless the feds shoot first, you must not engage. If they are unwilling to comply after a few hours, then I permit you to march into those buildings and do what is necessary to regain control of our country from the deep state.”

The manifesto ended with the phrase “Free Palestine” and an emoji of the Palestine Liberation Organization flag.

Prosecutors say Hall drove from Alabama to Atlanta, Georgia, on June 27, 2024, with plans to sneak into the CNN-hosted presidential debate and shoot Biden.

Hall was armed with a .38 Smith & Wesson revolver, and is said to have gotten within three blocks of the location of the debate some 28 minutes before its scheduled start time.

However, Hall then mistakenly traveled to a former CNN center in downtown Atlanta. After he parked his car on the top of a parking garage and attempted to scout out the area, Hall realized that he was in the wrong location.

Watching footage from the debate, Hall understood that he had missed his opportunity and checked into a local hotel before returning home to Alabama.

Speaking with a former girlfriend that night, Hall alluded to his plans, and said he would try to shoot Biden at the next presidential debate. His former girlfriend attempted to convince him not to make any such attempt.

After returning home, Hall’s parents discovered his plans and took away his pistol.

Authorities were first alerted to the botched assassination plot in October 2025, when Hall boasted to fellow students at Wallace State Community College about his plans to kill Biden.

Local police were alerted to Hall’s claims, passing on the information to the Secret Service, which dispatched agents to interview Hall’s parents on October 25.

“Threats against the president are gravely serious and must be treated as such,” said US Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg.

“Hall’s alleged actions went beyond mere words and included traveling to Georgia with a firearm to murder President Biden. Political violence is never acceptable and must be countered by swift intervention and meaningful consequences.”
