One of Qatar’s top foreign affairs officials praised deadly terror attacks against Israel, lauding suicide bombings and rocket attacks, before becoming adviser to Qatari prime minister.

A senior Qatari foreign ministry official and adviser to the country’s prime minister publicly praised terrorist attacks against Israelis before taking office. He lauded the suicide bombings and rocket attacks during the Second Intifada and up to the 2021 war between Israel and Gaza.
For the past three years, Majed al-Ansari has served as the foreign affairs adviser to Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, doubling as chief spokesman for the Qatari foreign ministry.
However, prior to his appointment in 2022, al-Ansari expressed support for Palestinian terrorism in his social media accounts and with his personal blog, which is linked to his verified X (then Twitter) account.
In a May 2021 blog post, al-Ansari praised Hamas suicide bombings, using the euphemism “martyrdom operations” against the “Zionist enemy,” and credited the deadly attacks with prompting Israel to withdraw from the Gaza Strip in 2005.
“We only ask God to realize this victory and to grant us some reward in liberating the Al-Aqsa Mosque and all the country,” al-Ansari continued.
That same month, al-Ansari praised the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror organization for its rocket attacks on Israel, using the hashtag “Tel Aviv is burning.”
“Palestine emerges to remind this nation of its glory and the greatness of its message,” al-Ansari wrote.
Al-Ansari predicted that Israel would ultimately be destroyed by Palestinian terrorism while expressing satisfaction at the “advancement” from attacks with “stones and bare chests to 3,000 rockets in 10 days.”
“Jerusalem, the interior, the West Bank, Gaza: Decades and successive projects to dismantle and isolate them collapse, only for them all to rise with one voice against the occupier,” he said.
In addition to his open support for terror attacks on Israelis, al-Ansari excoriated US President Donald Trump, then a candidate in the 2016 presidential election, and called for Qatar’s national air carrier to cut ties with the American businessman.
“We must demand the board of directors of Qatar Airways cut ties with Trump and his racist empire,” al-Ansari tweeted on December 10, 2015.
“Arab and Muslim businessmen and companies announce their boycott of Trump, yet our country’s national carrier chief brags about his friendship with this racist!!!”
The posts were discovered by analyst Eitan Fischberger, the Jewish Insider reported.
After the Insider presented al-Ansari’s posts to the Qatari Foreign Ministry and asked for a response, al-Ansari’s blog was deleted.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry did not respond to the report.
