Anti-Israel protesters disrupted a dinner U.S. President Donald Trump was about to begin at a Washington, D.C., restaurant Tuesday.
Online videos showed that as some patrons applauded the president, a small group of diners, prepared for the event, left their tables holding signs and Palestinian flags.
They moved toward the president’s group shouting “Free Palestine” and calling Trump “the Hitler of our time.”
Trump stood calmly at his table as the group yelled and then waved them off after hearing the Hitler comparison, coolly telling his security team, “Come on, let’s go. Get them out of here.”
One woman shouted that Trump was “terrorizing Gaza and communities all over the world,” including D.C., and finished with, “Palestine is not for sale.”
As Secret Service agents escorted her from Joe’s Seafood, she shouted, “Shame on you all,” drawing boos from other patrons.
Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marc Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and several others then sat down to eat.
Trump told reporters he was enjoying his first dinner outside the White House since his inauguration because the city was no longer dangerous after he called up 800 National Guard troops last month to help police crack down on crime.
“We’re standing right in the middle of D.C.,” Trump said before entering the restaurant. “This was one of the most unsafe cities in the country. Now it’s as safe as anywhere in the country.”
According to CNN, he also told the restaurant crowd, “Enjoy yourselves. You won’t be mugged going home.”
The protestors were members of CodePink, an anti-Israel women’s group that identifies as a pacifist, anti-war organization.
The group has long partnered with Palestinian terror-linked groups to vilify Israel, and it opposes the war in Gaza sparked by the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas-led massacre of 1,200 men, women and children and kidnapping of 251.
CodePink justified the slaughter, saying that Israel’s supposed decades-long “colonialization and oppression” of the Palestinians “has inevitably led to the resistance of Palestinians.”
In November 2023, CodePink co-organized a “National March on Washington” to “demand an immediate end to the brutal siege of Gaza and the cessation of all U.S. aid to Israel.”
It has also echoed Hamas propaganda about the war while remaining silent about the terrorists’ use of Gazan citizens as human shields and its continued captivity of 48 hostages, perhaps only 20 of whom are still alive, although kept in dark tunnels and starved of food, according to Hamas’ own videos.
NGO Monitor has also identified CodePink as a leader of U.S.-based BDS campaigns against Israel.
