Bloomingdale’s Chanukah-themed gift includes ‘Free Palestine’ note

A Jewish woman was stunned to find an anti-Israel political message handwritten in a note tucked into a Chanukah-themed gift her boyfriend bought for her from Bloomingdale’s.

A Jewish woman from New York took to social media earlier this week after she found that an unwanted anti-Israel political message had been stealthily tucked away in a gift she received for Chanukah.

On Monday, Arielle Harris and her boyfriend, Andrew Jones, released a video on TikTok documenting the note they received in a gift Jones had purchased for Harris for the Jewish festival.

Jones recently purchased Chanukah-themed pajamas from the Bloomingdale’s department store for Harris.

When Harris opened the gift, which had been wrapped at the store, she found a handwritten note on a Bloomingdale’s label card that read “FREE PALESTINE.”

“I ordered Chanukah pajamas for my girlfriend as a gift for the first night. And we opened it and found this,” Jones said in the video.

Harris emphasized that the note was clearly added by a store employee, pointing out that it was written on the back of a Bloomingdale’s label card.

“When I went to go open it, I saw this, and I opened this up and there immediately was this. And it is obviously from the company, because here is the Bloomingdale’s card and here is the receipt. So, thanks, Bloomingdale’s.”

Speaking with The New York Post, Jones said that his “heart dropped” when he spotted the note.

The couple initially panicked when they made the discovery, saying they were on edge immediately after the massacre on Sunday carried out by Islamic terrorists at a Chanukah event in Sydney, Australia.

Afterward, however, they decided to “bring awareness and to speak out.”

“This never should have happened, and Bloomingdale’s needs to answer for their employees,” Harris said in her video.

Jones said that the couple had spoken with an executive from the company who apologized for the offensive note and offered a full refund.
