Chilling UK Muslim dating platform encourages polygamy, tells men to ‘strike’ disobedient wives

Those who qualify as virgins and are under 35, along with women “open to polygyny,” access the service without charge.

A UK-registered Muslim dating website is facing fierce criticism for advertising virgin brides to men seeking multiple wives, with critics calling it a platform for misogyny disguised as a religious service.

NikkahGram, operating since 2023, markets itself as an Islamic solution for men seeking “a shy, untouched spouse” or looking to marry up to four wives.

Virgin women under 35 receive free access to the platform, while men pay between £24.99 monthly or up to £499.99 for “lifetime VIP” membership.

Founded with the stated mission “to facilitate marriage for Muslims who stick to core Islamic values of modesty and submission to Allah without modern excuses,” the site specifically targets what it calls “sisters who value their virginity and preserve it, and brothers who remain chaste and wish to find an untouched wife.”

An investigation by the Telegraph discovered that women joining the platform must declare their virginity status, defined as having had no “previous relationship, haram physical touches or any type of intercourse.”

Those who qualify as virgins and are under 35, along with women “open to polygyny,” access the service without charge.

Men seeking wives abroad are particularly encouraged, with promotional material stating they’ll find women who are “less prone to feminism” and “more traditional.”

Beyond matchmaking, NikkahGram has shared content that has alarmed women’s rights advocates. Videos posted on the platform’s social media channels suggest men should beat their wives as a “wake-up call” for continued disobedience.

In one Instagram clip about divorce, men receive this advice:

“From those wives whom you fear arrogance, first advise them. After one month of advising, then if they persist, forsake them in bed – don’t have any intimacy. Show them that you don’t desire them. And if they persist, finally strike them lightly, not with a baseball bat, not from the very beginning boom, no. This is gradual,” according to the report.

Since polygamy remains illegal in the UK, NikkahGram advises men against registering marriages officially with British authorities.

Instead, the platform promotes what it calls “non-registered connections,” claiming government regulations would lead to “injustice.”
