Israeli security forces nab ISIS terrorist preparing to carry out bombing attack on bus station in northern Israel.

Israeli authorities recently foiled a planned ISIS bombing attack on a bus station in northern Israel, according to a joint statement Tuesday morning issued by the Israel Police and Shin Bet security agency.

According to the Shin Bet and Israel Police, the ISIS terrorist in question – an Arab with Israeli citizenship – planned to bomb IDF soldiers at a local bus station in the city where he resides.

In a joint operation of the Shin Bet and the Coastal District of the Israel Police, Issa Madi, an 18-year-old resident of the northern coastal city of Acre, was arrested several weeks ago after authorities discovered that Madi had aligned himself with the ISIS terror group and that he had begun taking steps toward manufacture explosives.

After his arrest, Madi was interrogated by Shin Bet agents and investigators from the police department’s Asher Subdistrict Serious Crime Unit.

During the interrogation, Madi revealed that he had planned to carry out a bombing attack using an improvised explosive device (IED) against IDF soldiers at a bus station in Acre, near the city’s train station.

Madi admitted that he had moved beyond the planning stage and was actively preparing for the attack, describing in detail to investigators the steps he had taken to prepare explosive materials and to assemble a makeshift bomb.

The teenage terrorist further admitted explicitly that he had planned the attack out of nationalist motives and in the name of the Islamic State in Syria and that he had been in contact with ISIS operatives abroad who helped him prepare for the attack.

The Haifa District Prosecutor’s Office is expected to file an indictment against Madi on Tuesday, including obstruction of justice charges stemming from his arrest.
