Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly shifted Israel’s position on the Falkland Islands toward Argentina following British sanctions against Israeli settlements, The Telegraph reported.
Netanyahu instructed Israeli diplomats to support direct negotiations between London and Buenos Aires, marking a significant diplomatic shift amid worsening relations with Britain.
The move also aligns Israel more closely with Argentine President Javier Milei, one of its strongest international supporters. Israel’s UN ambassador has already acknowledged Argentina’s historical ties to the disputed islands.
Israel has stopped short of recognizing Argentine sovereignty, but the shift adds a new dimension to its diplomatic tensions with London.
