‘Jew Defamer Vance’ – Evangelical leader accuses Vice President of antisemitism

Evangelical Christian leader Laurie Cardoza-Moore accuses Vice President JD Vance of parroting antisemitic claims, calls on President Trump to distance himself from the VP.

Evangelical Christian leader Laurie Cardoza-Moore called on President Donald Trump to publicly distance himself from recent statements by Vice President JD Vance concerning Israel, Iran and American Jewish supporters of the Jewish state.

Cardoza-Moore, president of the Christian Zionist organization Proclaiming Justice to the Nations, accused Vance of promoting rhetoric that echoed longstanding antisemitic claims about Jewish and Israeli influence.

“As one of the millions of Evangelical Christians who stand with Israel and our Jewish brethren, I call upon President Trump to immediately distance himself from the Vice President’s recent statements on Israel and the Jews,” she said in a statement Tuesday.

Cardoza-Moore said Christians who support Israel could not accept language that she viewed as cursing or maligning the Jewish people.

“As Zionist, patriotic American Christians, we cannot tolerate public curses against our Jewish brethren, God’s Chosen People,” she said. “As the Books of Genesis and Obadiah clearly state, God will bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel.”

She specifically criticized allegations that Israel exercises excessive influence over the US government, as well as conspiracy theories connecting Israel to the Jeffrey Epstein case.

“Suggesting that Israel wields unproportionate power over our government or clinging onto bizarre conspiracy theories around the Epstein files reeks of age-old medieval Jew-hatred,” Cardoza-Moore said.

Her criticism also focused on Vance’s repeated warnings that Americans do not want a prolonged war with Iran. Cardoza-Moore rejected the suggestion that Israel was responsible for extending the conflict and instead blamed the administration for failing to eliminate the Iranian threat when it had the opportunity.

“JD needs to stop trying to pass the buck for his failed execution of this ongoing conflict,” she said. “Yes, Americans don’t want a protracted war! But because JD failed to eliminate the threat when the opportunity presented itself, we are left with our allies in the Middle East being attacked by the IRCG, which had no intention of honoring any agreement!”

She argued that the war could have ended earlier had the administration permitted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to take more extensive military action against Iran.

“Had the Administration allowed Bibi to ‘cut off the head of the snake,’ the war would have been over a long time ago and 3 more American soldiers would not have just been killed and many more injured by an Iranian attack on a US base in Jordan,” she said.

Cardoza-Moore also addressed suggestions that Vance’s rhetoric was intended to appeal to factions within the conservative movement that are skeptical or hostile toward Israel, including supporters of media personality Tucker Carlson and white nationalist influencer Nick Fuentes.

“Some have suggested that Vance is attempting to appeal to the likes of Tucker Carlson and Nick Fuentes with these antisemitic dog whistles, but that only makes it worse,” she said. “Our Republic’s future and the make-up of our government cannot be paved on the backs of our Jewish Brethren.”

“These attacks have been so potent that they have led me to ask whether the initials JD now stand for Jew Defamer?” she added.

Cardoza-Moore said Vance’s allegations resembled accusations commonly directed at Israel by its adversaries.

“It is interesting to note that many of the accusations, hurled at Israel by JD Vance, are the same as those hurled at Israel by enemies at home and abroad,” she said. “Is this a coincidence? I think not.”

“America cannot be led by those who defame the Jews,” she said. “Our Nation was established on Judeo-Christian values. We will bring blessing upon these United States by clinging to our eternal roots in the spirit of our Founding Fathers.”

Cardoza-Moore warned that statements made by senior political figures could have consequences for Jewish communities amid what she described as growing antisemitism in the United States and around the world.

“As the global plague of Jew-Hatred continues to grow on our shores, we must be extremely careful, as people of influence, to measure our words very carefully,” she said.

She cited several comments that she attributed to Vance, including remarks made during a White House press conference and an appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast.

“We are particularly concerned about recent statements made by Vice President Vance at a White House press conference, where he attempted to isolate Israel on the world stage by suggesting that President Trump is Israel’s only ally or by falsely claiming that Israeli government ministers made personal attacks against President Trump,” she said.
