Palestinians carry out six more terror attacks over weekend

The weekend saw no signs of terror attacks against Israelis abating as Palestinian terrorists executed six major attacks and several other terror-related incidents.

Palestinian terrorists carried out six terror attacks in Jerusalem and in Hebron on Saturday, as a month-long outburst of Palestinian violence showed no signs of abating.

The first attack occurred in Jerusalem, where most of the terror attacks have taken place. A 16-year-old Palestinian terrorist drew a knife on officers early Saturday when they asked him for identification after a bystander said he was looked suspicious. The officers shot and killed the teenager after he tried to stab them. The incident took place in the Armon Hanatziv neighborhood, near where two Palestinian terrorists boarded a bus earlier in the week and shot and stabbed passengers, murdering two.

Later, another terrorist tried to stab a policeman on the outskirts of Jerusalem, but struck his bulletproof vest and did not injure him. The terrorist was shot and wounded. When an officer approached the terrorist to treat him, he pulled out a second knife and attempted to attack him. He was then shot dead.

The next three stabbing attacks Saturday took place in the city of Hebron.

In the first incident, an Israeli pedestrian shot and killed a Palestinian terrorist who tried to stab him.

Later on, a Palestinian woman attempted to stab a female officer at a border police base in Hebron and lightly injured her before the officer shot her dead.

At night, an IDF soldier was stabbed and moderately wounded at a checkpoint before the terrorist was shot dead the soldiers comrades.

The last attack occurred at the Kalandia checkpoint north of Jerusalem when a Palestinian attempted to stab a police officer, but was shot and critically wounded.

The attacks on Saturday followed two terror incidents on Friday; one stabbing attack in Hebron and the arson and desecration of Joseph’s Tomb, a Jewish shrine, by Palestinian vandals in Shechem (Nablus).

Over the past month, seven Israelis have been murdered in Palestinian terror attacks, most of them stabbings. In that time, some 40 Palestinians were reportedly killed by Israeli fire, including 19 terrorists, and the rest while rioting and assaulting Israeli troops with rocks and firebombs.

Three Israeli victims still remain hospitalized in critical condition.

Israel has taken unprecedented steps in response to the attacks. It has deployed soldiers in Israeli cities and erected concrete barriers outside some Arab neighborhoods of Jerusalem, from which many of the terrorists originate.

Ordinary citizens are also increasingly carrying arms to protect themselves. Pepper spray sales have skyrocketed, and many stores have sold out their entire stock.

Most of the terror attacks on Israelis have been carried out by Palestinians with no prior ties to terror groups, in many cases seemingly inspired by incitement on social media.

The violence erupted a month ago over the Jewish New Year, fueled by malicious rumors disseminated by the Palestinian Authority (PA), the Hamas terror organization and the Islamic Movement, that Israel was plotting to take over Jerusalem’s most sensitive holy site, the Temple Mount.

Israel has adamantly denied the allegations, saying it has no plans to change the status quo at the site, where Jews are allowed to visit, but not pray, due to Muslim objections.
