Rapper Kanye West, who has been steeped in controversy for multiple antisemitic remarks and tirades targeting Jews, made an abrupt shift on Tuesday and apologized for his hate speech against Jews in an Instagram post written in Hebrew.

A translation of Kanye’s (also known as “Ye”) post reads: “I sincerely apologize to the Jewish community for any unintended outburst caused by my words or actions. It was never my intention to cause harm or disrespect, and I deeply regret any pain I may have caused.”

He continued, “I am committed to reflecting on this experience and learning from it to ensure greater sensitivity and understanding in the future. Your forgiveness is important to me, and I am dedicated to making amends and promoting unity.”

Kanye removed his offensive posts from the platform.

Jewish rapper Koshadillz quipped, “Is this Kanye’s haftorah?”

The rapper, who had been married to socialite Kim Kardashian, has made numerous antisemitic remarks in the past year which has caused many retailers to drop his line of shoes, called “Yeezy’s”.

The Simon Weisenthal Center said that Kanye West had the most antisemitic impact on social media in 2022.

The NGO said that West had mainstreamed numerous antisemitic tropes, including the canard that Jews wield disproportionate power over the media and the economy, and that today’s Jews are impostors and black people are the so-called “real” Jews.

More recently, Kanye West launched into a 10-minute tirade during an album release among a group of friends, offering conspiracy theories linking American schools to “Zionists,” and “Rothschilds.”

He claimed that the high abortion rate among African Americans was linked to the conspiracy theory that Jews run hospitals and are somehow profiting from these procedures.

West then compared himself to Jesus and Hitler.

West claimed there were 60 million Jews worldwide – compared to an actual 14 million.

”We don’t have to bow to this s**t. It’s 60 million of us in America, 60 million Jews in the world.”

It is unclear who the “60 million” Americans West was referring to.

Kanye West has openly said he suffers from bipolar disorder, but this doesn’t explain away underlying antisemitic beliefs.
