Terror victims, all in their 20s, had big plans for the future

Solomon Gavriyah, Youssef Ottman and Or Arish were named as the victims of a terror attack Tuesday morning near Jerusalem. They were all young and full of plans for the future.

The three Israelis murdered by a Palestinian terrorist at Har Adar, near Jerusalem, on Tuesday were named as Border Policeman Staff Sergeant Solomon Gavriyah, 20, and civilian security guards Youssef Ottman  and Or Arish, both 25.

A fourth victim, also a civilian security guard, sustained serious wounds and was successfully operated on at Jerusalem’s Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital.

Gavriyah, a resident of Be’er Yaakov, a town in central Israel, joined the Border Police a year and a half ago.

He sustained stab wounds to his hand in a terror attack about a year ago, not far from where Tuesday’s incident occurred. Yet he was adamant on returning to active combat service, where he subsequently met his death.

He is survived by his parents, two sisters and a brother.

Ottman, an Israeli-Arab from Abu Ghosh, served as a Border policeman, and after concluding his service found a job as a security guard. He was described by those who knew him as a “good guy who was dedicated to work, was quiet and liked to help.”

He was reportedly saving money in order to marry and buy a home. It appears he was acquainted with the terrorist who murdered him.

Ottman’s uncle was murdered in a terror attack in Jerusalem in 1997.

Arish, a resident of Har Adar, was working to fund his education and was not slated for the morning shift, but he took it in order to earn a little more money.
