Trump teases ‘exciting announcements’ on Gaza deal

US president cheers passage in UN Security Council of resolution granting mandate to international force to police Gaza, says the move will lead to “peace all over the world.”

President Donald Trump hailed the passage of a US-backed resolution by the United Nations Security Council Monday that grants an international mandate for the multinational force he has proposed to police Gaza, claiming the vote will lead to peace “all over the world.”

On Monday, the UN Security Council voted 13-0, with Russia and China abstaining, to formally adopt the White House’s 20-point Gaza peace plan and approve the formation of an international stabilization force tasked with enforcing the ceasefire and disarming Hamas.

The resolution, which includes the entire text of the Gaza plan as an annex as well as a clause endorsing a “pathway” to Palestinian statehood, also lays the foundation for the establishment of the Board of Peace proposed by the Trump administration.

The board, headed by Trump, would coordinate the flow of aid into the Gaza Strip and handle basic administrative tasks, while an interim technocratic Palestinian committee would be formed to govern the coastal enclave.

“Congratulations to the World on the incredible Vote of the United Nations Security Council, just moments ago, acknowledging and endorsing the BOARD OF PEACE, which will be chaired by me, and include the most powerful and respected Leaders throughout the World,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social account Monday evening.

Trump claimed the resolution will ensure the spread of “peace all over the world.”

“This will go down as one of the biggest approvals in the History of the United Nations, will lead to further Peace all over the World, and is a moment of true Historic proportion!”

The president teased “exciting announcements” with regard to the Gaza peace plan but offered no details.

“The members of the Board, and many more exciting announcements, will be made in the coming weeks,” he wrote.
