US President Donald Trump urges Israel and Iran to negotiate end to current conflict, says efforts are already underway to broker a ceasefire which will “Make the Middle East Great Again!”

US President Donald Trump suggested that Israel and Iran could soon reach a ceasefire agreement ending the current hostilities, hinting that efforts are already underway to broker such an arrangement.
Using his Truth Social accounty, the president urged Tehran and Jerusalem to “make a deal,” comparing the current Middle East war to the conflict between India and Pakistan earlier this year, which was terminated with a ceasefire.
“Iran and Israel should make a deal, and will make a deal, just like I got India and Pakistan to make, in that case by using TRADE with the United States to bring reason, cohesion, and sanity into the talks with two excellent leaders who were able to quickly make a decision and STOP!”
Trump also predicted that such a deal will be reached, adding that it will likely be in the near future, making veiled references to apparent attempts by his administration to encourage Israel and Iran to enter into truce talks.
“Likewise, we will have PEACE, soon, between Israel and Iran! Many calls and meetings now taking place. I do a lot, and never get credit for anything, but that’s OK, the PEOPLE understand. MAKE THE MIDDLE EAST GREAT AGAIN!”
The president’s public comments on Israel’s ongoing air campaign against Iran’s nuclear program have been mixed, at times seemingly endorsing the attacks, while at the same time distancing the US from the operation and calling for an end to the hostilities.
“The US had nothing to do with the attack on Iran, tonight,” Trump wrote on Sunday morning, while threatening to strike Iran should US assets be targeted.
“If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the US Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before. However, we can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel, and end this bloody conflict!”
