Two Muslim men convicted for harassing London Jews in TikTok video

Two Muslim men from London convicted after pleading guilty to harassing local Jews as part of an abusive, antisemitic TikTok video.

Two men pleaded guilty in a London court on Saturday to antisemitic hate crime charges after police said they traveled to a predominantly Jewish area of north London to film abusive TikTok videos targeting Jewish residents.

Adam Bedoui, 20, and Abdelkader Amir Bousloub, 21, both from Hillingdon in west London, admitted a religiously aggravated public order offense at Thames Magistrates’ Court, according to the Metropolitan Police and Crown Prosecution Service.

Police said the pair went to Clapton Common in Hackney on Thursday night, approached a Jewish man, verbally abused him and filmed the encounter for social media.

“This was a deliberate and targeted antisemitic attack, aggravated by the pair’s intention to post the incident on social media to spread hatred,” Detective Superintendent Oliver Richter, who leads policing in Hackney and Tower Hamlets, said in a statement released by the Metropolitan Police.

“It is completely unacceptable and has no place in London,” Richter added.

Police said officers were called to reports of a hate crime at about 9 p.m. local time and arrested five men in the area after the suspects allegedly attempted to flee. Bedoui and Bousloub were later charged and convicted within 48 hours.

“Our officers acted quickly to arrest those responsible, and within 48 hours they have been brought before the courts and convicted,” Richter said. “That should send a clear message — we will act decisively against anyone who commits hate crime.”

The two men are scheduled to be sentenced on June 5 at Thames Magistrates’ Court.

Three additional suspects — two 20-year-old men and a 21-year-old man — were arrested and later released on bail pending further inquiries, police said.

The case comes amid heightened concern over antisemitic attacks in London. Earlier this week, the Metropolitan Police announced the creation of a new 100-officer Community Protection Team focused on protecting Jewish communities across the capital following a string of recent incidents, including the stabbing of two Jewish men in Golders Green last month.

Police said around 50 people have been arrested for antisemitic hate crimes in London over the past four weeks, with multiple suspects charged.
