The proposals include selling the uranium to the US, transferring the material to a third country or diluting the material.

President Donald Trump’s administration and Iranian negotiators remain divided over uranium enrichment, control of the Strait of Hormuz and financial arrangements as mediators continue efforts to advance a broader agreement that also includes Lebanon, according to details released from the talks reported by N12.

As of now, Iranian officials are willing to commit only to not developing nuclear weapons, while the United States has proposed several options regarding Iran’s uranium stockpile.

The proposals include selling the uranium to the US, transferring the material to a third country or diluting the material.

The sides also remain at odds over the Strait of Hormuz. Iran is prepared to accept Iranian management of the waterway, while the Americans are insisting on free navigation.

No agreement has been reached on financial issues. Qatar has proposed providing Iran with a $12 billion loan for humanitarian purposes, according to the details released from the negotiations.

Lebanon is also included in the proposed agreement framework.

A US official told Al Jazeera that Hezbollah had ignored repeated requests for a ceasefire with Israel.

“Hezbollah ignored repeated requests for a ceasefire with Israel. Israel will respond to attacks targeting its soldiers and civilians. This is not the Biden administration,” the official said.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel remained at war with Hezbollah and would continue military operations against the group.

“We are at war with Hezbollah, and we will strike it hard,” Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu also praised residents of northern Israel for what he described as their “inspiring resilience.”

He added that Israel had established a special team focused on addressing the threat posed by Hezbollah drones.

“We have a special team working to solve the problem of Hezbollah drones,” Netanyahu said.
