World must boycott Israel’s ‘genocide economy’ – UN official

<Days after being sanctioned by the U.S. for anti-Israel bias, Francesca Albanese called for immediate international action against Israel.

The United Nations’ Special Rapporteur for Gaza and the West Bank called for international actions against Israel’s “genocidal economy,” days after she was sanctioned by the U.S. for her longstanding hostility towards Israel.

Speaking at an international conference in Bogotá, Colombia focused on the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, Francesca Albanese urged world leaders to take steps to punish Israel for the conflict.

“Each state must immediately review and suspend all ties with the State of Israel … and ensure its private sector does the same,” Albanese said at the conference.

“The Israeli economy is structured to sustain the occupation that has now turned genocidal.”

Albanese said that the “time has come to act in pursuit of justice and peace – grounded in rights and freedoms for all, and not mere privileges for some, at the expense of the annihilation of others.”

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced last week that Washington was imposing sanctions on Albanese, citing her staunch anti-Israel bias and repeated promotion of blood libels against the Jewish State.

“That bias has been apparent across the span of her career, including recommending that the ICC, without a legitimate basis, issue arrest warrants targeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant,” he told reporters.

Albanese called the sanctions, which triggered mass resignations of UN committee members investigating Israel, a “mafia intimidation” tactic.

“I want to remind everyone [that] the reason why these sanctions are being imposed is the pursuit of justice,” Albanese said.

“Of course I’ve been critical of Israel. It has been committing genocide and crimes against humanity and war crimes,” she added.

The Italian attorney, who denied that October 7th was triggered by Jew hatred and said that Israel was to blame for the massacres, has a long history of public remarks justifying terror.
