Anti-Israel vandal attacks cops, demands they ‘kill’ her

Dana Bareket gained notoriety not just for vandalizing the hostage posters, but also for threatening a Jewish woman who tried to intervene and confront her.

An unhinged anti-Israel vandal was apprehended on Wednesday after she attacked two New York police officers with a chemical spray and attempted to steal one of their guns.

Dana Bareket, 19, was charged with robbery, assaulting a police officer, criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful possession or selling of a noxious material, and harassment, the NYPD said in a media statement.

According to a New York Post report, Bareket approached two officers in the Times Square area at 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday, spraying them in the eyes and face with pepper spray in an unprovoked attack.

She then tried to wrest one of the officers’ guns out of the holster in what appeared to be an attempted suicide-by-cop, reportedly demanding during the struggle that the police “kill” her.

“The officers did an excellent job under extreme pressure and stress when they were intentionally ambushed by the attacker,” a law enforcement source told the Post.

“Within seconds of being attacked, they quickly de-escalated the situation, without anyone being seriously injured, and placed the attacker in handcuffs,” the source added.

Bareket previously gained notoriety for ripping down posters of Israeli hostages in Times Square shortly after October 7. In the clip of her tearing the posters, she can be heard screaming “F–k Israel” and threatening a Jewish woman who confronted her about her actions.

At the time, Bareket’s father, Hassan, originally from Lebanon, said that his daughter’s actions had been taken out of context.

He said that the Jewish woman whom his daughter threatened had snatched a picture of a Palestinian baby out of her hands — a dubious claim for which he provided no evidence.
