Two female Palestinian terrorists, aged 14 and 16, used scissors to stab and wound an elderly man on Jaffa Street, near the central Mahane Yehuda market in Jerusalem, Monday morning.

Both terrorists were shot by a policeman. One died immediately, while the second was treated for critical wounds and evacuated to an Israeli hospital.

A police spokesman said that a police sapper, who happened to be at the scene of the attack, called on the terrorists to drop their weapons and cease their attack before firing on them.

One of the victims, in his 70’s, was taken to Shaare Zedek hospital with light stab wounds to his head and back. The police later stated that the victim is a Palestinian.

Another victim, a 27-year-old, was evacuated to Hadassah hospital with a light wound to his hand from a bullet ricochet.

Jerusalem District Police Chief Commander Moshe Edri commended the policeman for his “quick and professional response which prevented further innocent victims.”

This attack comes after weeks of relative quiet in the capital. The last attack occurred two weeks ago when two Palestinian teens stabbed and wounded a security guard on Jerusalem’s light rail.

However, elsewhere in Israel, Palestinian terrorists have been carrying out a seemingly endless wave of terror attacks on an almost daily basis.

On Monday, Palestinian terrorists carried out three terror attacks at three separate locations, two in the Jerusalem vicinity and one in Samaria, murdering one young woman and wounding a second man.

On Saturday night, a Palestinian terrorist stabbed four people in the southern Israeli city of Kiryat Gat. Two days earlier, three people, including an Israeli, a Jewish American citizen and a Palestinian, were murdered in a shooting attack at the Etzion Junction.

In total, Palestinian terror attacks have claimed the lives of 20 victims and wounded 181 since September 14.
