Terrorist who infiltrated Israel during Oct. 7 invasion killed in the Gaza Strip, IDF announces.

Israeli forces operating in the Gaza Strip last week shot and killed a Hamas terrorist attempting to infiltrate IDF-controlled territory in the northern Gaza Strip, an army spokesperson said Saturday.

The incident took place Thursday along the Yellow Line, which demarcates Hamas and Israeli-controlled sectors of the Gaza Strip, when a terrorist was spotted attempting to cross into the Israeli side of the ceasefire line.

The IDF’s Northern Brigade Combat Team operating in the area spotted the terrorist and opened fire, killing him.

Later, the Israeli military identified the slain terrorist as a Hamas operative who had taken part in the October 7, 2023, invasion of Israel.

Israeli military intelligence named the terrorist as Muhammad Salah al-Din Khaled Abu Raqba.

“IDF forces under Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to act to neutralize any immediate threat,” an army spokesperson said.

On Saturday, two more Gaza terrorists were spotted attempting to cross the Yellow Line into Israeli-controlled territory, the IDF said over the weekend.

In both instances, the terrorists were shot and killed.

“Earlier today (Saturday), forces from the 7th Brigade Combat Team operating in the southern Gaza Strip identified a terrorist who crossed the Yellow Line and approached the forces in a manner that posed an immediate threat,” the IDF said.

“In a separate incident in the northern Gaza Strip, forces from the Alexandroni Brigade (3) identified a terrorist who crossed the Yellow Line and approached the forces in a manner that posed an immediate threat.

“Immediately after the identification, the forces eliminated the terrorists in order to remove the threat. IDF forces under Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to act to neutralize any immediate threat.”
