A Palestinian terrorist attempted to stab IDF soldiers at a security checkpoint at the Beit Anun Junction in the Hebron area on Thursday.

He was shot and killed by the troops during the attempted attack.

No Israelis were harmed in the attack.

The Beit Anun Junction has been the site of multiple Palestinian terror attacks, and a large percentage of Palestinian terrorists hail from the Hebron area. The last similar incident occurred on Tuesday.

Mount Hebron Council Chairman Yochai Damri issued a statement shortly after Tuesday’s attack claiming that United States Aid for International Development (USAID) funding is responsible for the countless Palestinian terror attacks at the junction. According to Damri, USAID helped build a traffic circle in a dangerous location – notwithstanding residents’ protests against its construction – resulting in weekly attacks.

“We predicted that this would become an easy location from which to throw stones and to attack Israelis. This shows the destructive influence of money from foreign organizations and countries in Judea and Samaria. Precisely because of this attack, I support all those who seek to prevent foreign NGOs from acting here as if they were at home,” he said.

This incident was the latest in a long series of almost daily Palestinian terror attacks, which have plagued Israelis over the course of the past three-and-a-half months, claiming the lives of 27 victims and wounding over 280.
