Top Islamic Jihad terrorist captured in IDF raid

Spokesman for Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror group nabbed in Jenin as Israeli forces capture seven wanted terrorists counter-terror sweep.

Israeli security forces arrested senior Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist Khader Adnan in the village of Arraba, near Jenin, according to Palestinian media reports.

Adnan, a spokesman for the terror group, has been arrested a number of times. In 2012, he was released from Israeli custody after a 66-day hunger strike.

Israeli security forces arrested a total of seven wanted Palestinians in counter-terror raids around Judea and Samaria on Saturday night and in the early hours of Sunday morning, but have not disclosed the names.

In an ongoing sweep against terror in Judea and Samaria, the IDF has thwarted 500 terror attacks and arrested more than 2,500 suspects.

Operation Wave Breaker was launched by the IDF following a surge of Palestinian terror attacks in the spring of 2022 which killed 19 people.

In the village of Bir al Basha, near Jenin, soldiers were shot at by Palestinians from a moving vehicle. Soldiers returned fire.

Meanwhile, in the Jalazone Refugee Camp near Ramallah, Palestinians threw bricks and other objects at soldiers, who responded with riot dispersal procedures.

No Israeli forces were injured in either incident.
