House Democrat questions Israel’s right to exist as ‘Jewish state’

Dogged by accusations of anti-Semitism since she arrived on the national stage, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) falsely claimed in a recent interview that Israeli law “recogniz[ing] it as a Jewish state” denies adherents of other faiths equal rights under the law, despite the fact that Israel officially recognizes five religion, all of which enjoy religious freedom.
