UN ‘cooperating’ with Hamas, denying Israel’s right to self-defense

Calls to stop weapons exports to Israel are “actually calls of support for the Hamas terrorist organization,” says Israeli Foreign Minister.

Foreign Minister Israel Katz accused the United Nations of serving the interests of the Hamas terror group, after officials from the international body called for an arms embargo against Israel.

The office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights released a statement last week calling on the intentional community to stymie Israel’s war with Hamas by refusing to export arms or share intelligence with Jerusalem.

The statement also threatened countries that plan to continue arms exports to Israel by claiming that “state officials involved [weapons transfers] may be individually criminally liable for aiding and abetting any war crimes, crimes against humanity or acts of genocide,” it read.

Special Rapporteur for the Palestinian Territories Francesca Albanese was included among the human rights officials supporting the report.

Albanese has a long history of virulently antisemitic and anti-Israel comments, and recently justified the October 7th massacres perpetrated by Hamas.

Katz denied that Israel had acted outside the legal bounds of warfare in the ongoing conflict, and said that the UN was strengthening Hamas via its calls to weaken Jerusalem militarily.

“Since the October 7 massacre, the United Nations has been cooperating with the Hamas terrorists and trying to harm the right of the State of Israel to defend itself and its citizens,” Katz wrote on social media platform X.

“Ignoring the war crimes, sexual crimes, and crimes against humanity committed by Hamas terrorists constitutes a stain that cannot be erased on the UN as an organization and personally on UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres himself,” he continued.

Katz stressed that calls to stop weapons exports to Israel are “actually calls of support for the Hamas terrorist organization.”

“Even in the face of the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Hamas terrorists, Israel has acted, and will continue to act, in accordance with international law,” he added.
