The Islamic State’s (ISIS) news agency lauded Abdul Razak Ali Artan, the Muslim terrorist who ran over and stabbed 11 people at Ohio State University on Monday before he was shot dead, as “a soldier of the Islamic State” who “carried out the operation in response to calls to target citizens of international coalition countries.”“Brother Abdul Razak Ali Artan, God accept him, implementer of the Ohio attack, a student in his third year in university,” the post read.ISIS has previously described other terrorists around the world as its “soldiers” without specifically claiming to have organized the attacks. So far, US security agencies have found no direct link between Artan and ISIS.Artan, 18, a Somali-born student, expressed his anger at the US on social media prior to the attack. He railed against what he termed as US intervention in Muslim lands, and warned, “if you want us Muslims to stop carrying lone wolf attacks, then make peace” with ISIS.“America! Stop interfering with other countries, especially the Muslim Ummah [nation]. We are not weak. We are not weak, remember that,” he wrote.Read Terrorists liberate terrorists from other terroristsHe also warned that other Muslims are waiting to attack, “waiting for a signal. He had been living in Pakistan from 2007 to 2014.Three of the 11 victims remained hospitalized Tuesday evening, but all are expected to recover.Classes for the 60,000 students at Ohio State were canceled after the attack, but resumed Tuesday.Several hundred students gathered on campus Tuesday night for a vigil.By: World Israel News Staff AP contributed to this report ArtanISISIslamic terror
