By Vered Weiss, World Israel NewsIsrael’s Foreign Ministry declared that South Africa’s genocide accusations against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) were “baseless lies” and hypocritical, Ynet reports.The Foreign Ministry also called South Africa “the judicial arm of Hamas” and noted that the case completely distorted the account of the October 7th massacre and didn’t mention the atrocities Hamas committed against Israelis.The South African delegation presented a case against Israel before a 17-judge panel at the Hague with the goal that the court would issue an injunction to stop Israel’s war against Hamas.The SA delegation argued that Israel’s goal was the annihilation of the Gazan population and that for years they had prevented births and turned Gaza into “the largest concentration camp in the world.”They claimed that Israel violated article 2 of the Genocide Convention and said, “Israel has a genocidal intent against the Palestinians in Gaza. That is evident from the way in which this military attack is being conducted.”Read Jewish leaders in South Africa blast ANC government’s ‘grandstanding’ with latest move against IsraelThe added, “It is rooted in the belief that the enemy is not just Hamas, but is embedded in the fabric of Palestinian life in Gaza.”Israel’s Foreign Ministry condemned these accusations and said, “South Africa seeks to allow Hamas to repeat its war crimes, its crimes against humanity and its sexual crimes committed on October 7, which leaders of the terror group have said they intend to commit over and over again.”They added, “The lawyers for the African nation ignored the fact that Hamas is using civilians in Gaza as human shields and are conducting their fighting from inside hospitals, schools, UN shelters, mosques and churches in order to endanger the lives of Gaza’s civilian population.”“The captives held by Hamas deprived of access to the Red Cross and to medical attention.
