Palestinian terrorist wounds IDF soldier in stabbing attack

A year after Palestinians started a fresh wave of terror attacks, killing dozens of innocent civilians and wounding many more, Palestinian terrorists have shown no sign of relenting and continue to try and attack Israeli civilians at every opportunity.

A Palestinian terrorist stabbed and moderately wounded an IDF officer after infiltrating the community of Efrat, in Gush Etzion, early Sunday morning.

The incident began at about 2 am when the community’s security system identified the terrorist. Security forces were alerted to the area, and began to patrol the streets in search of the terrorist.

At about 6 am, the terrorist emerged from his hiding place behind a bush and attacked an IDF officer, the Deputy Company Commander, involved in the search.

The officer was stabbed and moderately wounded in his upper body, before another IDF soldier managed to shoot the terrorist in the head, causing a serious wound.

The terrorist was found to be carrying several other knives.

Both the officer and the terrorist were evacuated to hospitals in Jerusalem.

This was the sixth Palestinian terrorist attack over the weekend, a new outburst of Palestinian violence after several weeks of relative peace.

After several attacks in the Hebron area over the weekend, the IDF is sending further reinforcements to the area. A Jordanian citizen and three Palestinians carrying out the attacks were shot and killed by troops. Two IDF soldiers were lightly wounded in the attacks.
